The Avenyx Ecosystem: Research, Labs, and Studio
By Aquene Briggs, Founder & CEO
When people hear Avenyx, they think of the company name. And yeah — it's Avenyx. But what actually makes the work function, what gives it structure and depth, is what's underneath. We have three departments. And each one does something the others can't.
Together, they're what makes Avenyx actually work.
Let me walk you through them.
Avenyx Research — The Foundation
This is where everything starts. Research is the intellectual foundation of Avenyx , it's what these articles are. The writing, the field notes, the research essays. That's all part of this function.
What we're doing in Research is exploring the evolving relationship between data, artificial intelligence, and humans and sometimes the lack of that relationship. Because that gap, that disconnect, is just as important to document as what's working.
And I want to be clear about something: Avenyx is built on three things, in this order. Humans. Data. Artificial intelligence. Not the other way around. Research is what keeps that order honest. It's how we stay anchored to real problems instead of just chasing whatever's technically exciting right now.
We research what workers actually need. We look at how companies are trying to implement AI and where it's falling apart, and it is falling apart in a lot of places. Companies are getting licenses, not knowing how their employees are using them, not knowing if they're using them at all. There's no structure, no training, no feedback loop. And I'm not just saying that, the data backs it up. 41% of workers say their employer has given them nothing, no tools, no training, no guidance, to help them use AI at work, so people go find their own tools instead (Resume Now, 2026). 63% of workers said their employer hasn't trained them adequately on AI, and even the ones who got training mostly called it a single generic session that didn't actually help (National University, 2026). Meanwhile companies are pulling back, not leaning in, formal AI upskilling programs actually dropped from 35% of organizations last year down to 26% now (LinkedIn, 2026). And most executives don't even trust their own governance, 78% said they couldn't confidently pass an AI audit within 90 days (Grant Thornton, 2026). That's the gap. That's not a strategy, that's just a hole where a strategy should be. That's a real problem and it's documented. Research gives us the foundation to actually solve it.
Everything built in Labs starts here.
Avenyx Labs — Where It Gets Built
If Research is where the questions live, Labs is where the answers get made.
Labs is the technical muscle of Avenyx. This is the engineering hub, where research findings get turned into functional code. GitHub repositories, Firebase, Supabase architecture, API integrations. Rapid prototyping. Rigorous testing. Building MVPs that prove our concepts work in the real world, for real people.
The emphasis on MVPs matters to me. We're not building toward some theoretical future version of the product. We're building things that work now, that can be tested now, that can be improved based on how real users actually interact with them. The lab stays in contact with reality. That's the whole point.
Right now, PromptLens is what we're building out in Labs, it's approaching beta testing. Hoshi Travel is in earlier development. Both are being built the same way: research-backed, human-centered from the start, designed to solve problems we've already documented and confirmed exist.
Avenyx Studio — Where It Becomes Human
Okay, this one is my favorite. Other than Research, honestly this one might be my favorite.
You can have great research. You can build a technically solid product. And still miss the most important part, the part that determines whether a real person actually wants to use what you made. Whether it feels approachable. Whether someone who is already overwhelmed and already skeptical of technology picks it up and thinks — this was made for me.
That's the Studio's job.
Studio is where logic meets intuition. After a concept has moved through Research and been built in Labs, Studio is where it gets its soul. The human-centered UI design, the visual storytelling, the decisions about color and tone and character and feel that transform a functional product into an actual experience.
We have four principles guiding the Studio:
Human-led, AI-assisted. We design workflows where human agency stays the priority. Synthetic systems handle the scale and the complexity. Humans stay in control.
Guided intelligence. Our tools are designed to clarify. To cut through the fog that machine learning outputs can create and make what was complex feel actually navigable. Actually actionable.
Research-driven. Every design decision in the Studio is traceable back to something we found in Research. A user pain point, a behavioral pattern, a gap in how existing tools communicate with people. We don't just design pretty things. We design with purpose.
Transparency. Every AI-driven action in an Avenyx product should be interpretable and verifiable by the person using it. You should always be able to see what the system is doing and understand why. No black boxes.
Studio also documents the process, the design evolution made visible. How did the Avenyx logo come together? What was the idea, the sketch, the iteration, the final render? For PromptLens, it'll go through the mascot design — the character who levels up with you as your prompts get better. It'll show the process, the color scheme, the mood board, the sketch to final render. Same for Hoshi Travel. The whole design journey, visible and shared.
And that's intentional. It's the philosophy made literal. If we're building for humans, the way we build should be human too.
Why It Takes All Three
Research without Labs produces insight that never becomes anything. Labs without Research produces products built on assumptions instead of evidence. Research and Labs without Studio produces tools that technically work but don't connect. That solves a problem in theory but feel cold or hard to trust in practice.
The three together produce something different. Technology that was thought through carefully, built rigorously, and designed to feel human.
That's the Avenyx ecosystem. Not one product. Not one approach. A system — built deliberately, for the people who need it most.
